Framing and focus

Choose a Lens and keep your subject in focus.

Choose a Lens

Open Lens to choose a camera. Tap a Lens to select it and return to framing. Tapping the selected Lens closes the tray too.

Pinch the picture or use the Lens dial to zoom, even while recording. Zoom stays within your chosen Lens. Switch Lenses or use the front camera between captures.

Auto, tap and Manual focus

Auto follows the scene. Tap the picture to focus at a point. On supported cameras, drag the Near to Far dial to focus manually, even while recording. You can also assign a picture swipe to Focus in Gestures & Shortcuts. The manual dial is unavailable on other cameras.

Hold Focus to apply your reset choice, which starts at Auto. You can use Auto and tap focus without tracking a subject.

Follow a subject

  1. In Video or Photo, double-tap the subject you want to follow on a supported camera.
  2. Tap elsewhere or use Focus Tracking to stop.

In Video, tracking works from 4 to 60 FPS and stops above 60 FPS. Lower the speed, then double-tap your subject again. Photo tracking is available regardless of the remembered Video speed.
