Edit a video or photo
Try a new Look without replacing your original.
Edit a photo
- Open a photo in Library and tap Edit.
- Choose a Look or adjust its color and texture. The preview uses the retained camera original.
- Swipe inward from either picture edge and drag the divider to compare with the current saved photo. Use Expand for a full-screen comparison. Collapse returns to your selected Look and adjustments.
- Tap Save a Copy to make a new photo.
The original photo and its saved Look stay as they are. The copy joins the same albums and has its own Favorite choice. The first Look card represents this photo’s saved version; choose it to return to that color and texture.
Shutter speed, optical focus and the physical Lens describe the capture. Editing a Look cannot re-create a different exposure time, refocus the original or change the physical camera used. Check these before taking the photo.
Try another Look on a video
- Open a video and tap Edit.
- Choose another Look for the original footage. Adjust it with the same tools you use on the camera.
- Pull in from a picture edge and drag the divider to compare with the original Take.
- Use Expand for a full-screen comparison. Collapse returns to your selected Look and adjustments.
- Tap Save a Copy to make a new Take. Your original stays saved. The new Take joins the same albums and has its own Favorite choice.
The first Look card represents this Take’s saved Look. Choose it to return to that version’s color and texture.
Editing needs the retained original video or photo. If it is unavailable, a new version cannot be developed. See sharing and exporting when your picture is ready.
Print a video frame
- In a video, drag the Film Frame slider to choose a still. Print Frame and Edit sit below it.
- Tap Print Frame to save it to Camera Roll.
- If saving fails, use Open Settings when offered to review Photos access.
You get a separate still. Your video stays as it is. Photos have no frame slider or Print Frame action.
