Share or export

Keep a copy of your picture or send it to someone.

Share a developed Take

  1. Open Library → Takes and choose a finished video or photo.
  2. Open its menu and tap Share.
  3. Choose a destination in the iOS share sheet.

Share sends the finished movie or photo and keeps the item in 16MM.

Save a library copy

16MM tries to save each developed camera Take to Photos. This automatic saving does not apply to assembled Films. Check the saving guidance in the photo viewer or Save status in video Details. If it is only in 16MM, choose Save to Photos or retry when offered. Duplicate makes a second Photos copy when one already exists.

If saving fails, your video or photo stays in 16MM. See saving and recovery.

Export an assembled Film

  1. Open Library → Films and choose a draft.
  2. Tap Export and keep 16MM open while it prepares a fresh movie.
  3. When Film ready appears, choose Download or Share.

Export does not create a new Take or automatically save to Photos. Your editable draft stays in Films. See exporting and keeping a Film for saving, retries and deletion.

Keep the original video

For an unprocessed Take, choose Save original to Photos when offered to save its original video to Photos. For a still image from a video, choose a frame with Film Frame and tap Print Frame.

These make separate copies and keep your Take in 16MM.
