Save, name and share

Save a personal Look

1. Choose and refine a Look.
2. Tap Save a Copy to add it to My Looks and Favorites.
3. Tap your saved card to edit, then tap its title to show its details.
4. Enter a Look title and Look description, then tap Save Changes.

Personal cards show MY and your title. Renaming a saved Look also updates its displayed name on matching Takes. Their saved pictures keep the Look used when they were developed.

Hold a personal card for Share Look or Delete Look. Sharing from the editor can include unsaved changes. Deleting the selected Look chooses the next personal Look or Default and keeps your camera settings and Library items.

Give a Look its own cover

Create a cover in Look Studio, then open its shared link in a compatible version of 16MM. The app displays the cover on your personal Look card and keeps it when you refine, save or share the Look. The cover does not change your film’s color or texture.

Share Look includes the cover automatically. If its artwork makes the link too long, sharing uses the default card artwork and keeps your saved cover. Afterglow and custom covers need a compatible version of 16MM; a default cover does not make a newer Look compatible with an older app.

Recall a Take’s setup

Use the Look editor to change color, texture, titles and descriptions.

To recall a recorded Take’s setup, open its Details and choose Use Look between Takes. This can restore Lens, zoom, ND, aperture and sound along with the Look. Choosing a gallery card keeps your current camera settings.

Open a shared Look

Tap a shared Look link on your iPhone, or add a copied link from the camera:

1. Copy the Look link, then open Looks in 16MM.
2. Tap + in the header.

16MM reads the copied link after your tap. iOS may ask for permission. If no Look link is copied, the guidance offers Open Look Studio.

A new shared Look opens for a preview. If you’re recording, it waits until the Take ends. Adjust its preview, then tap Save New Look to add it to My Looks. Closing the preview leaves your saved Looks unchanged.

Opening the same Look again finds your existing copy and keeps its place and star choice. A changed version can stay separate. Links contain Look settings, with no captured photos, footage or camera setup. Your Lens, exposure, ND, focus, sound and camera white balance stay as they are.

Take a Look into Studio

1. Use Share Look in 16MM and copy its link.
2. Open Look Studio, choose Import → From a link and paste the link.
3. Refine the Look, then choose Share to create its updated link.
4. On your iPhone, tap the link, or copy it and add it from Looks with +.

Studio uses the same Look links and keeps its original settings editable alongside app adjustments. A compatible version of 16MM preserves Studio’s Fade and Mix settings when you refine, save, export or share the Look. Continue editing Fade and Mix in Studio; the app keeps its existing adjustment tools.
