Start with a Look. Make it yours.
Find a starting picture
Open Looks and choose a card before capturing a video or photo. Your personal Looks come first. Tap the selected card or swipe up on its header to edit color and grain. See the Look Gallery for browsing and Favorites.
Default keeps the camera’s original color with adjustable grain. Choosing a Look keeps your camera setup, including your Lens, zoom, ND, aperture and timing choice. To change a saved video or photo, use Edit.
See the difference
With a film Look selected, pull in from either picture edge to reveal the camera’s original color. Drag the divider as you browse or make changes. Tap its handle to center it, or double-tap to close the comparison.
You can try an edge comparison in the introduction too. Swipe across the middle of its example picture to browse Looks; drag inward from an edge to compare.
Refine color and texture

| Vintage | Softer contrast and color, faded blacks and subtle highlight glow, from 0–100%. |
| Vignette | Edge darkening from 0–100%. |
| Contrast | Make light and dark more or less distinct. |
| Temperature | Make the color warmer or cooler. |
| Black Point | Set how deep the blacks feel. |
| Shadows | Adjust the darker parts of the picture. |
| Highlights | Adjust the brighter parts. |
| Saturation | Adjust color intensity. |
Tone and color controls run from −100% to +100%. Black-and-white Looks hide Temperature and Saturation. Built-in Looks start with Grain at 100% and Dust at 25%. Saved Looks keep their own values, including zero.
Create your own starting Look
Start with A0 · Default or another film base in Look Studio, then open its shared link in a compatible version of 16MM. Refine it with the app’s existing tools and share it back to Studio to keep editing. Studio’s Fade and Mix settings stay part of the Look; return to Studio to edit those settings.
Using Look StudioKeep or reset
Reset returns to this Look’s starting values, which may include grain and other effects. Done keeps your changes on the camera.
16MM can remember your recent personal Look and adjustments when you reopen it. Reset still uses its saved starting values. Save a copy to keep a separate named Look.
Saved Looks, videos and photos keep their original picture if a gallery Look changes. A retired Look stays in Favorites until you remove its star.
