Browse, play and inspect
Find your Takes, albums and Film drafts.
Open Library
Tap the camera thumbnail to open Library. Use the bottom tabs to choose Takes for your videos and photos, Albums to organize them, or Films for your assembled edits. Tap Close to return to the camera. Hold the camera thumbnail to open your latest developed video or photo directly.
Open a video to play or pause and choose a frame with Film Frame, or open a photo to inspect it. Moving between items stays within your chosen collection and media filter. Back returns to the collection you opened, including an album.
Browse the grid and filter media
Takes and open albums show a grid of square thumbnails. Videos have a video icon and duration. Open an item’s More menu for its actions.
Tap the filter button (Library options with VoiceOver). Under Media, choose All media, Videos or Photos. Collection offers All or Favorites. Inside an album, these filters apply only to that album’s members.
Choose several items
Tap Select, then choose videos and photos. The bottom tabs give way to your selected count and Make a Film. Tap Make a Film to open the editor directly. Clips start with the oldest capture on the left and the newest on the right, regardless of the order you selected them.
The top-right More menu offers Share, Add to Favorites, Add to Album, Duplicate and Delete. Duplicate saves another copy of each selected finished item to Photos. It does not create another Take in Library. Actions can be unavailable while an item is saving, developing or needs recovery.
Select All and Deselect All are also in More and apply to your current collection and media filter. Inside an album, Remove from This Album removes membership without deleting the Takes. Filters remain available while selecting. Tap the X button (Exit selection with VoiceOver) to leave selection mode and return to browsing the same collection.
When a collection is empty
An empty collection explains what to add next. If the current media filter hides existing items, choose Show All Media to see the collection again.
View full screen
An opened video or photo shows its Look name, with Expand and a More menu. Tap Expand to view the picture full screen. Tap Collapse to return to Details.
In Edit, Expand opens the comparison full screen. Collapse returns to the selected Look and adjustments. Videos keep their current playback state; photos keep their inspection position when expanding from Details.
Favorites and albums
Open a video or photo and tap the heart to add or remove it from Favorites. A filled heart marks a favorite. You can also use Add to Favorites or Remove from Favorites in its menu. Find favorites with the filter in Takes or within an album. There is no separate automatic Favorites album.
Choose Add to Album from an item’s menu or the selection More menu. Tap one or more album cards, then tap Add. The plus button lets you name a new album and includes it in your selection. Closing before Add leaves albums and membership as they were. An item can belong to more than one album.
You can also create an album from Albums. Inside an album, choose Add Takes in the bottom bar to select more videos and photos. Confirm with the Add action; cancelling leaves membership as it was. Existing members stay out of this chooser.
Inside an album, the top-right More menu offers Rename Album, Duplicate Album and Delete Album, in that order. Holding its cover offers the same album actions. Duplicating creates a separate album with the same members; it does not duplicate the media. Deleting an album keeps its Takes and any other albums. Remove from Album removes only that membership. Albums and favorite choices are kept on this device, separately from Photos.
Choose Make a Film in an album’s bottom bar to start editing its visible videos and photos, oldest first. The current filters apply. Select specific items first to use only part of the collection. See Make a Film.
Inspect a photo
Pinch or double-tap to zoom. Drag to pan while zoomed, or fit the picture to move between items. Tap to show or hide controls.
See Info opens Details: capture date, Frame size, file name and file size, plus available capture facts such as shutter speed, ISO, zoom, physical lens aperture and Lens. The saved Look is shown separately. Capture facts describe the original exposure; Look settings describe this saved version.
Tap Edit to choose or adjust a Look, then Save a Copy to make a new photo. See editing a photo.

Read video Details
Video Details show Recorded, Duration, Film length, Manual Film Flashes when available, Frame size, Frame rate or Frame rate ramp, Playback, Save status and Capture settings. Some Takes also show a speed-history chart.
Frame size shows the saved video’s pixel dimensions. Stabilization shows the setting recorded at the start of the Take. Older Takes show Not recorded when that setting was not saved. Capture settings show how the Take began. Changes to ND, aperture and zoom stay in the developed video. When available, Use Look recalls its Look and camera setup between Takes. Older Takes may lack a reusable Look or detailed speed history.
